Platon Tinos, is Professor at the University of Piraus, and a leading expert in social protection, pensions, gender, insurance economy. He has worked as a Special Adviser to the Prime Minister of Greece Costas Simitis', Strategic Planning Office, primarily involved in economic aspects (both macro and micro) of social policy, including pensions, health and long term care, Integration of social policy in overall strategic management. He has been a member of several Policy Commitees for the E.U. and has worked in various I.M.F. programs too. He has received his PH.D. in Economics from Christ's College, Caimbridge University, UK
